Duplicate a Revit Structure Gridline

We knew that Revit Structure does not allow us to created Gridlines with the same identical identity.

And so, here is the work around for creating a duplicate Gridline:
First, create any gridline.

Second, edit Gridline text by right clicking,

choose, Insert Unicode Character

then, choose LRE, Start left to right embedding,

and in this case, type "D", for us to duplicate Gridline D

And . . . . . . .there you see it. . . . two Gridline D.

This procedure is often used when there are link files to the model, and you can't manipulate

a linked gridline. . . . . .hence we duplicate gridlines . . . . enjoy.

Screen Flickers When clicking an object

The use of dual monitors sometimes results to :
1. Options bar is showing up as multiple gray bars.
2. Screen flickers when clicking an object and more gray bars appears moving the project down.

Solutions:
1. Open and work on Revit which is docked to your primary monitor.
2. Temporarily reduce screen resolution, dock Project Browsers/Properties palettes
back inside Revit, exit & open Revit.

Increasing size of Revit Structure's temporary dimension's font:

1. Find Revit.ini file in Windows Explorer search:

Example location:
C:\Autodesk\Autodesk_Revit_Structure_2011_English_Win_32-64bit\RevitSetup\RevitStructure



2. Then add the following text:

[Graphics]
TempDimFontSizeInPoints = N

3. default N value=8, good starting point is double that which is 16.

4. Save file

5. Restart Revit Structure

Autocad Structural Detailing 2011 Service Pack 1

Oops. . . . .Got an error while using Autocad 2011 (I forgot what it is). . . . darn. . .
Got it recovered though. . . .
so I got an email from Autodesk right away . . . .from reporting that error, urging me to update.
. . . . pretty good customer maintenance job by Autodesk. . . . .

So it's time to update to "Autocad Structural Detailing 2011 Service Pack 1"

Revit Structure 2011

Just installed Autodesk's Revit Structure 2011 Suite from a dowloaded file.
This the first time that Autodesk default installation requires no Digital Disks.

Installation went smoothly and very easy without encountering any problems.

My System:

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Processor: Intel Xeon CPU W3520 @ 2.67 GHz
Memory: 16 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA FX-3800
